SNOW, an immersive free-to-play winter sports game powered by Crytek’s proprietary CRYENGINE, has launched on Steam Early Access.
The game’s first mountain, Sialia, is a whopping 8km2 open-world terrain that provides an authentic and realistic skiing and snowboarding experience. “It’s all about freedom, creativity, and exploration,” says Alexander Bergendahl, CEO and Game Director at Poppermost Productions. “All the restrictions and clutter that can occur in traditional sports games have been removed, allowing players to approach the game the way they want to.”
Players can freely explore the snowy cliffs and challenging slopes, or set out to prove themselves against other players via SNOW’s leaderboards. The game also offers an extensive character customization system where players can completely create their avatar with over 140 products from real-life brands; this catalogue will be updated continuously with the latest items from partnering brands and companies.
SNOW is powered by the state-of-the-art CRYENGINE technology from Crytek. “This was a natural choice for us,” Alexander continues. “We wanted to deliver a game with stunning visuals that would support our vision of an open world. Crytek’s game technology is extremely powerful and really helps us create the world of our dreams.”
